theLights are a five piece melodic alt pop band from the heart of the U.K. Their sound is like nobody else, unique, ecletic and intimately epic with a touch of old enough to know better!

As lyrically adept as Idlewild but as melodically breezy as a hard rock Teenage Fanclub, theLights are a challenge to pigeonhole. Imagine Elvis Costello writing lyrics for ELO, fronted by James Dean Bradfield's younger siblings!

The live Lights experience is electric and frequently spine-tingling, rather than a bunch of college kids recycling one catchy hook, they actually sound like a real working class band with the fire, heart and poise that playing and writing together for years has afforded them.

theLights continue to go from strength to strength, being invited to play at numerous gigs and festivals throughout the UK and Europe, whilst building a new group of friends and followers as they go! In the last year the band released two singles, both to critical and public acclaim, which resulted in national UK Radio play on Radio 2 and BBC 6 and showed Janice Long, Tom Robinson and Steve Lamacq to be pronounced as fans.

The band are now set to go back into the studios with renowned producer Gavin Monaghan (Bloc Party, The Twang, Kings Of Leon) to record their debut album entitled "Teenager Of The Century" this October. The album will then be released through Minty Fresh/Universal Records, and will see the band venture across the pond to spread their enchanting sounds amongst the American Public!
