The Nervous Wreckords

Short Version:
The Nervous Wreckords are a rock band that infuse dance-able beats with their signature 70's glam guitar riffs to make infectiously catchy songs. Born In June 2009, intended to just be a collection of recordings, The Nervous Wreckords NAILBIGHTER EP was noticed by the KILLERS, who invited the band to open up their sold out Day & Age tour in the US. These were the band's first ever shows.
Now with a live band intact that includes: Brian Karscig (guitar/vocals), Cindy Cate (bass), Lindsay Matheson (guitar), and Daniel Schraer (keyboards) the band have started the year by opening for CEE LO GREEN, have been touring up the West Coast of the US, and have made appearances at CMJ Music Festival in NYC, and showcases at SXSW, and are currently out doing shows supporting Brandon Flowers (of The Killers). The Nervous Wreckords have self released their first full length LP VALUMINIUM softly on their website and iTunes, Aug. 31, 2010. Help from word of mouth has led to the band selling out of their first 2 physical pressings of the album, are they are now preparing to hit the road once again, continuing to create awareness of the band's refreshing new sound.
With buzzed about tracks "Doin it to Do it", "8Track (I'm Comin Back), "Similar but not the Same", and "Coming to an End" the band is creating viral awareness in all the DIY forums such as YouTube, Reverbnation, Last FM, and have sold out their first headlining shows up the west coast of the USA. The Nervous Wreckords are now making plans to properly release their full lenth LP late summer/fall 2011 and head over to the UK in support of the album.

The Whole Story and the Early Beginnings:
After 3 albums, 4 EP's, and 5 years of extensive international touring, co-singer/guitarist/songwriter of LOUIS XIV, Brian Karscig met Anthony Saffery (producer and member of UK band Cornershop) in 2008 when having a drink in a hotel bar before a gig in Cambridge, MA.
Karscig explains 'I've always been a fan of Cornershop. I loved their ‘Brimful of Asha’ song and video, and have seen Anthony playing sitar with Noel Gallagher on a Beatles tribute performance on the BBC. We started chatting and hit it off that evening. We kept in touch via email and phone, and would regularly send each other mixes from bands we were respectively producing, and really appreciated what the other was bringing to the sound of the songs. Soon after, I sent him some songs I had been recording, and he loved them! We started working on some tracks together by sending hard drives of files across the country. I love the club/eastern/beat element Anthony does creatively and really wanted to incorporate that into the new music.’ The result: The Nervous Wreckords were born in June 2009.
Karscig and Saffery finished five songs together in Cambridge, MA at the famous Camp St. Studios (Radiohead, Pixies, Lemonheads, etc.) and released THE NAILBIGHTER EP, a collection of songs that infuse dance/club beats with rocking 70’s glam guitar riffs, in December 2009. The EP features Karscig on vocals, guitars, and pianos, Saffery on break beats and synths, as well as friends gathered from years of touring (Mark Maigaard /Louis XIV, Ray Suen/The Killers, Mark Stoermer/The Killers, and Steve Smith/Dirty Vegas). In support of the EP, The Nervous Wreckords toured with The Killers and played shows at CMJ 2009 in NYC and SXSW 2009.
The Nervous Wreckords are now creating momentum in 2010 with the release of their full-length debut, VALUMINIUM. The LP has been hailed as “The 1st Audio Prescription” by many, and features more of the lyrically clever songs, beats, and catchy guitar riffs that The Nervous Wreckords fans have grown to love.
What started as a solo record with no expectations, has now grown into a band with a steam train of momentum, and buzzed about songs, and live shows. The Nervous Wreckords plan on reaching the UK/EU in support of their record late summer/early fall 2011.
